About Borrowed Tunes
I'm singing this borrowed tune
I took from the Rolling Stones
Alone in this empty room
Too wasted to write my own
-Neil Young, "Borrowed Tune"
The idea for this mp3 blog came from one of two places: a) many of our music-loving friends often ask us where we read about all the music we recommend to them, or b) everybody else is doing it. In any case, we hope we are providing a unique perspective on today's rock/pop/whatever-else-we-like-at-the-moment by comparing our opinions with criticism from around the Web and also magazines.
We love those intolerable "best of" lists. We don't agree with any of them but ours; however, there's no better way to start either a very intense discussion or a very intense shopping trip. We have trouble remembering everything we listened to at the end of a year, so here we're just going to keep a running tally. Look for the "running 2005 top 20" in the sidebar.
And, of course, borrowing tunes is part of the rock music tradition. So enjoy - we'll provide plenty. And your comments are welcome.
